Die neue Zeitschrift
Konzeption und Gestaltung des kompletten Erscheinungsbildes – offline und online – der Schweizer Zeitschrift «DIE FREIEN»

For the magazine «DIE FREIEN», which was founded 2022 in Altdorf, Uri in Switzerland, polyactive developed the complete visual appearance on all platforms.

First a clean and modern logo was designed that stands for the free spirit of the brand «DIE FREIEN». Because the magazine is new, the claim «The new magazine» was added. This claim will be exchanged with time for a new one that then emphasizes more the brands values.

After the conception of the logo followed the basic concept for the website. A startpage as well as various subpages and a shop were developed graphically and then implemented.

The heart of the whole project of course is the design of the magazine itself. Therefore polyactive developed a beautiful and functional layout. In the context of the every two-month layout creative and visually appealing cover designs were created for each issue, that showcase the topic of the current issue in a creative way. An accent color was also selected for each issue, which underlines the theme in terms of color psychology. As part of these designs there was created a styleguide which can be consulted for the implementation of all CI specifications.

Polyactive also developed all corporate designs for the magazine: Business cards, business stationery, postcards, flyers, posters, stickers and appearances on social media platforms. In this context there were also created small animations, which tease the new editions.

Basic concept – website

polyactive developed a user-centered, responsive basic concept for the FREIEN website.

The homepage provides information about the magazine - who are DIE FREIEN, what do they write about (excerpts) and which editions are already available. All information is quickly and intuitively accessible.

Individual headers were created for the subpages «About us» (team), «Excerpts», «Advertisements», «Donations» and the «Shop» for sales. A slider appears on the homepage, which has two call-to-actions and is always updated when the current issue is published. This keeps it exciting for repeated visits and the user knows immediately when the latest issue is out and can order it. The call-to-actions take you directly to the shop and to samples of the magazine's articles.

Was die Leser:innen sagen...

«Das is de füdliblutti WahSinn»
For me, it's a shame to simply throw away the magazine after reading it and forget it. I can only advise every reader to keep it like a good book. Every magazine read lies undamaged, no folds, nice and straight and flat in the bookcase... just as it should be for a high-quality collector's magazine. 🙂

I think the new magazine is really great in terms of content and design, valuable, appealing - thank you for your work! Luckily I bought a subscription. I'm already looking forward to the next issue of DIE FREIEN. Keep it up!

«Exciting, well-founded and visually excellent»
Dear editorial team, I warmly congratulate you all on this excellent magazine. Since the beginning, I've been happy every time it's in my mailbox. The articles are always as exciting as a good crime novel, fantastically well-founded and also excellently presented visually!
